The eLibraryUSA

The eLibraryUSA, a gateway to vital information and extensive learning that provides access to more than 40 databases of authoritative and continually updated information offered at the MMSU-American Corner. It is provided free of charge by the U. S. Government through the U. S. Embassy in Manila. It offers the following databases:

Academic OneFile

Contains over 40 million journal articles from 1980 to the present day on science, technology, medicine, the arts, theology, and literature.

American English

Provides information and resources for those who are interested in exploring American culture or learning English as a second language, including the Trace Effects game.

Black Studies in Video

A collection of award-winning documentaries, newsreels, interviews and archival footage surveying the evolution of black culture in the United States.


Helps people who are learning to read or who are learning English. Visitors to the site can have a story read out loud, have words defined, and can learn about the authors of the books. The collection includes eBooks and video storybooks, with some available in Spanish.

Current Affairs for Embassies

A collection of more than 80 books related to such subjects as democracy, peace-building, American life and citizenship, current technological innovations and endeavors, and foreign policy.

Digital Literacy

Teaches users how to safely navigate the digital world. It covers such topics as privacy, social networking, and cyberbulling.

A collection of over 50,000 English, Spanish and Portuguese full-text books on history, literature, science and technology.

An online video series designed to train and develop teachers.


Offers accurate information and advice to try to help international students apply to U.S. colleges and universities. Its intended audience is teachers and educators.

English Language Learner Reference Center

Contains information on developing study skills and English language skills. Users of this resource can read over 1,000 articles designed for non-native speakers, take comprehension tests, and improve their language skills in a fun and interactive way.

Features over 1,000 documentaries on topics like health, race, current events, human rights, and more. Because this is a resource with videos, it may run slowly in areas with low bandwidth.
