In addition to its in-house services, the American Corner (AC) reaches out to communities to share its resources in partnership with other agencies or offices.

AC, with its partners, namely, MMSU-Directorate, MMSU-College of Agriculture, Forestry and Sustainable Development (CAFSD), MMSU-College of Engineering (COE), and the Barangay Council of Ngabangab, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, conducted its outreach program entitled "Empowering a Community Through an Environmental Project on Waste Management" on December 7-8, 2015. The outreach program aimed to: 1) inculcate into the community the importance and benefits of a clean environment; 2) make the community realize and understand their role in waste management; and 3) teach the community how to manage wastes and create a healthier living environment.

A total of 60 individuals were trained/informed on the following topics: 1) "Importance and Benefits of Clean Environment" by Mrs. Alma C. Aguinaldo, Consultant, Living Rock Christian School, City of Batac, Ilocos Norte; 2) "Waste Management" by Professor Estrelita O. Domingo, Faculty, MMSU-CAFSD; 3) "Recyclable Wastes Turned to valuable Eco Products" by Engineer Joane Rose C. Cuanang, Faculty, MMSU-COE; 4) "Establishment of a Community Waste Management Program" by Professor Estrelita O. Domingo; 5) "Organic Fertilizer Production" by Dr. Floramante Pastor, Faculty, MMSU-CAFSD; and 6) "Edible Landscaping" by Professor Maura Luisa S. Gabriel, Faculty, MMSU-CAFSD.

To concretize the knowledge and skills gained by the trainees, hands-on  activities and a planning meeting for the implementation of the Barangay Waste Management Project were also conducted. Likewise, five sets of garbage stand were donated to the barangay.
