His Excellency Philip S. Goldberg, U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines, visited Mariano Marcos State University on September 4 and 5, 2014. On September 4 at 3:30 p.m., Ambassador Goldberg witnessed the launching of the Marine-based Product Development Center at the College of Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology of the MMSU in Currimao and gave an inspirational message. The Ambassador visited also the various research projects of faculty and students. About more than 200 individuals consisting of University administrators, faculty/staff members and students as well as Honorable Mayor Gladys Go Cue of the Municipality of Currimao and members of the nearby communities participated in the CASAT campus activities.
On September 5 at 9:00 a.m., the Ambassador had a forum with the MMSU community at the main campus in Batac. He talked on the U.S. foreign policy, the U.S. role in Asia and the Philippines, the environment specifically climate change, among other things. About more than 600 participated in the forum.
