Special Exhibits
As part of the multimedia approach of the University Library System, the following special exhibits are also existing in the Main Library:
- Tilamsik ng Liwanag: Panahon Na! Mabuhay ang Kalayaan! (Second floor, west wing). Consists of fifteen (15) sets of eighteen (18) 3’ x 7’ back to back panels and one 2’ x 7’ panel containing digitized reproductions of historical pictures and art works from the second half of the nineteenth century to the present time. Aims “To evoke the past that illuminates the future… that remembering will deepen our sense of being unique, our sense of pride in being Filipino.”
- American Contribution to Philippine Education, 1898-1998 (First floor, west wing). Includes 63 photographs portraying the educational links between the United States of America and the Philippines. Emphasizes that “An educated citizenry is the foundation of democracy.”
- The World Heritage in China (UETC, First floor, west wing). Consists of works based on the theme of the twenty-seven Chinese cultural and natural heritage sites (inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage list) by contemporary Chinese photographers.
